When it comes to shopping, the quaint two-storey Padang Besar arcade is most ideal for budget buys and it is always alive with shoppers. There is also duty free shopping in Padang Besar at the northern Thai border. Beyond the Padang Besar rail tract is Pekan Siam, another bargain hunters’ paradise.
