Getting to Know You I am 42 years old. I live in a place called Atherstone, which is right in the center of England, and nearby the famous Belfry golf course that was the venue for The Ryder Cup. When I was a kid, between 12 to13 years old, I caddied for my father and for some friends. I was pretty clever at school up to 14 years of age. Then, after that, I thought it was a waste of time so my education went down the window and I just concentrate on playing golf. I won't recommend that to anyone but it worked on me. I must have about 10 sets of golf equipment, but I don't change clubs often. I normally change my set of irons once every three years. My favourite weather condition to compete in is when it is windy, at a wind speed at 20 mph, because I am normally a good wind player. My greatest achievement was having played the Ryder Cups. I won six times on the European Tour and even though the 1992 B&H tournament was my biggest win, the Ryder Cup is still my biggest achievement.

Gluttony
Your favourite food?
Cottage pie. It's a British dish.

Envy
Name the one person you most envy?
Tiger Woods - the way he plays the game and everyone likes to be Tiger Woods.

Treat
What was the last luxury item you have bought yourself?
A brand new car. It's a BMW 4-wheel drive.

Place to Be
What is your favourite destination?
Florida. I have a home in Orlando near the Disney theme parks. I have four children and I take my family to our Florida home twice a year.

Red Face
Your most embarrassing moment, please.
I have acquired a few embarrassing moments on the golf course, but one particular one was when I shot 80 on the last round of the PGA Championship last year. I was leading earlier so it was pretty embarrassing.

Alternative Job
If you were not a professional golfer what would you be?
I probably would be a car salesman, something like that.

Inspiration
Who inspires you the most?
My father is my greatest inspiration. My father played golf and then he had an accident at work and lost his arm. Now he is playing golf one-handed and he was the person who got me into golf. When I watch him play it just makes me think he's got one arm and he can play the game and really enjoys it. It just makes me feel lucky.

One Wish
To win the British Open.
I would be quite happy.
